Our African Safari is guaranteed to leave you breathless when you sign onto a trip with Colin Garland, Raven’s founder and lead guide. Colin’s extensive knowledge of big cat behavior combined with his refined animal tracking skills and years of experience studying animal behavior in Kruger National Park will ensure you have the experience of a lifetime. If you love animals, Kruger is the place for you. Encompassing over 7,000 square miles and containing several different  eco-zones, predators like lions, cheetahs and leopards are frequently seen.  With Garland’s love of big cats and his years of photographing and filming these fantastic animals in Kruger park, you are sure to return home with some fantastic photos of these big cats. Of course you will also have excellent opportunities to photograph the abundance of elephants, rhinos, hippos and the several antelope species found throughout the park.

We have chosen Kruger Park for many reasons. Kruger Park is world famous for its high numbers of animals, including the big five (lions, rhino, elephant, leopard and buffalo) and each fenced-in camp compound has excellent facilities including a small grocery store, restaurant, plenty of hot showers and convenient cooking areas. The lodging possibilities range from simple tent camping to huts, bungalows and even some high end Chalets. Don’t let the upscale facilities fool you, just meters away from your lodging, you may see a hyena walking the fence line or wake to the roar of male lions taking down a buffalo. Lodging upgrades are available but are subject to availability so we advise contacting us early if you would like to stay in huts, bungalows or chalets for all or some of your trip.

From a leaders perspective, guiding in Kruger Park is a dream compared to other African countries. South Africa has excellent highways ensuring a safe, comfortable drive from Johannesburg to the Park. Our Safari trips to Kruger run from mid August to early September, when the temperatures are comfortable, and the land is dry. This is the best time to be in Kruger Park as the views are vast, the animals begin to gather in large numbers around the shrinking water holes, and there is no threat of malaria or other illnesses that plague other locations in Africa. The food and water are perfectly safe. Kruger Park is a magical place and we invite you to join us. We could go on and on, but we will let our photos speak for themselves.
